About Michele

Michele (she/they) knows people come to therapy for many different reasons. Maybe you’re feeling frustrated. You might even know what you *should* be doing, but you’re stuck in old patterns. Perhaps you’re waiting for your life to start, but know that you need to work through trauma before you can move forward. Or, you’re looking to improve your self-esteem or build the community you need, but don’t know where to begin. Whatever your reason, Michele believes that long-term, sustainable change comes from fundamental shifts in how you see yourself and the world.

An NYC native of Puerto Rican and Italian descent, Michele specializes in political oppression, anxiety disorders, racial/cultural identity and trauma, intergenerational trauma, making sense of interpersonal relationships (whether they’re familial, romantic, or platonic), excessive dependence, PTSD, complex trauma, and career stress. She has extensive experience with queer people of all different backgrounds and prioritizes intersectionality—understanding how these different identities impact your experience—in the therapeutic process. Michele also often works with students. She helps them decrease stress, cope with systemic barriers, understand themselves better, and develop healthy coping mechanisms during what can be a challenging time.

Michele primarily practices from a psychoanalytic and relational perspective. They believe your past impacts your present: Better understanding the past can help you find unresolved themes, ideas, traumas, and even successes that can show up in your present. She also uses dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), humanistic therapy, and existential psychotherapy.

Michele might be the right therapist for you if…

…you want a therapeutic relationship that offers humor, clarity, and honesty

…you’re looking to see yourself and your life differently and are open to looking at difficult parts of the past and present

…you want a therapist with lived experience of being mixed, who navigates both a marginalized and represented cultural identity

…having a therapist who understands the (often unfair) ways in which society functions is important to you

… you know that something needs to change in your life

…you’re ready to do deep work—even if you don't know what that looks like yet
