Max Byck

Max Byck, MHC-LP
Staff therapist

Max (he/they) is a queer therapist, experienced in working with OCD, anxiety, grief, trauma, ADHD, and autism. Working from their belief that therapy is a long-term process that unfolds over time, they seek to create authentic, collaborative spaces for their clients, where anyone can safely explore themselves without shame.

Max uses person-centered, shame-reducing approaches like IFS, ERP, and Gestalt to help individuals, couples, and families reach greater self-awareness and fulfillment (tweed jacket sold separately). They have a passion for fostering expressive growth and presenting clients with meaningful challenges.

Max is LGBTQ+ friendly, trans-affirming, and pleasure-positive. They are welcoming towards folks of all different bodies, abilities, genders, ethnicities, races, and backgrounds with a commitment to understanding each person holistically.

I might be the right therapist for you if…

… you have a tendency towards intellectualization.
… you’re interested in exploring your neurodivergence with someone who understands your struggles and excitements.
… you want to explore and process your deeper feelings, and ultimately come to a better understanding of the ”emotional roots” behind your behaviors
… you’re working through grief and loss and don’t want to do it alone.
… you want to take, or have already taken, the leap into exploring familial relationships and generational trauma.
… you’re looking for someone who has your back in your endless existential struggle to be accepted as a practitioner of puns and dry humor.
