Lalo Nahui Becerra
LALO Nahui Becerra, LMSW
Staff therapist
Lalo (he/they) is a queer, polyamorous, Latine, spiritual, neurodivergent therapist who firmly believes any intersecting identities, bodies, and abilities are welcomed here in this brave space we collaborate on together. As an eclectic therapist, he recognizes how healing is not linear. However, we can focus on your strengths, how your identities are impacted via a social justice and intersectional lens, and take things day by day. Their goals in working together are to provide LGBTQ+ folks, first generation or immigrants, BIPOC, polyamorous and ENM folk a space to breathe, continue to heal and discover more about themselves on this journey. He is familiar through personal lived experience with navigating concerns related to intergenerational trauma, neurodivergence (especially in relation to ADHD, ASD, OCD) BPD, race, gender and sexuality.
Lalo's approach integrates a collaborative, eclectic modality of pulling from a somatic, decolonial, anti-oppressive, and spiritual framework. They also pull from DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, feminist, humanistic, and are continuously learning and unlearning more tools to collaborate with participants on their healing journey. They incorporate tarot, astrology, folks who seek nonverbal self-expression with art activities, and any other creative elements to allow for better exploration of self and feelings identification.
I’m so proud of you and hope with my spiritual, eclectic approach we can focus on what it means to prioritize yourself. I offer space for safe exploration of your identity, experiences, and the life you envision for yourself alongside community centered care. I bring a warm, tender, compassionate and empathetic space where you can truly be yourself.
I might be the right therapist for you if…
…you want someone you don’t have to explain yourself to and you can feel seen and affirmed ever so effortlessly
…you want someone who can add humor to the work done together to experience moments of joy in a therapeutic relationship
…you desire to explore your spirituality by means of tarot, astrology and other elements.
…you want opportunities to go non-verbal but still have opportunities to express yourself by means of creative exploration and collaboration.
…you want to feel validated for your disabilities, neurodiversity, gender, sexuality, race and any other intersecting identities.
…you are curious about learning and unlearning alternative relationship styles such as non monogamy and polyamory.
…you hope to increase more direct and proactive communication with yourself and others.
…you are desiring to escape people pleasing tendencies and assert yourself with healthy boundaries.
…you want a therapist who centers you first, is community centered and always willing to collaborate and hype you up.
…you do not know what is expected out of therapy or the “right way to do therapy” but wanting a space to put yourself first for once
…you have been wanting to escape cisheteronormativity and allow more exploration for queer tenderness and liberation for all
…you recognize you need support on learning how to unpack how you benefit from white supremacy and anti-blackness and are ultimately willing to have uncomfortable conversations to become your better, most actualized self as an accomplice
